I thought I would share a couple of our basic family essential oil blends we use at home. Our family have been using these all winter and really enjoy the benefits and its so easy and natural.
I am so happy I found oils - their benefits ripple through my family and friends and really bring us all together as we can support each other and our children to heal.
So firstly grab some 10ml roller bottles and an organic fractionated coconut oil or a non perfumed pure oil that you like. Fractionated coconut oil is my favourite as it’s oily but not too oily! It is light and works so well with the oils but grape-seed is also good. I love Dottera oils, Farfalla oils and I also find Neils Yard products amazing.
So to begin, drop the oils you want to blend into the bottle and swirl them around a little; then top the bottle up with the carrier oil (there is a useful little funnel that comes with the bottles). Then you are ready to go! So simple. For a 10ml bottle around 9-12 drops of oils in total is a good guide, however for babies always half this, less is more with quality oils, they are potent. You can also add more drops if you are dealing with certain issues and its safe to do so. Email me for advise on this.
You can keep the roller bottle in your bag or in a cool dark place at home and use when you need. To use it, you roll on the feet for small kids and on the back of the neck if needed. You can also use them on the wrists, arms, forehead (not near eyes, especially with peppermint). (Always test on a small patch on your arm first just to check you are ok with the oils). When it comes to babies and toddlers always check which oils you can use on them and make sure only ever on the sole of the feet, nowhere else.
Some of the recipes I love are below to get you started but you can start to make your own when you get a feel for what you like and need. You can also make some lovely non chemical roller bottle perfumes. Get in touch with me if you need guidance or ideas.
Blend for calm and peace: 3 drops of lavender, 3 drops of chamomile roman, 3 drops of wild orange.
Blend for focus (great to help kids with school, exams and study etc). 4 drops vetiver, 4 drops of lavender, 2 drops cederwood and 1 drop of perpermint.
Immune booster: I love Doterra’s "ONGUARD" oil it is fabulous. Add 3 drops of Ongaurd and 2 drops of lemon and 2 of frankincense and 3 oregano. This is great on the kids feet to prevent and aid with quick recovery from a virus. We roll this on in "bug season" and also diffuse a few drops of ON GUARD and lemon in the diffuser in the house.
Womens blend: I love this! Gives me balance and peace and I find it really regulates the monthly hormone rollercoaster. 3 drops of Clary Sage, 3 drops Ylang Ylang, 3 drops frankincense and 2 drops of vanilla or wild orange of you don't have vanilla.
